Living in the Yorkshire Dales you are never far from a sheep or a cow or a Llama ? ? ?. Oh yes we do. Strange folk in Yorkshire.
They say in life it's not so much what you know as who you know. In that respect I suppose I'm lucky to have in my family circle someone who is a sheep and cattle farmer and who has a farm in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
As long as you don't mind getting your boots dirty and you have lots of patience there are loads of opportunities. Like one day in late March 2011 when I sat alone in a field for an hour with a ewe as she gave birth to healthy twins. My own personalised "Lambing Live" and the scenery as a bonus. Result ! !
