Sitting alongside the main road through the small village of Kilnsey in Upper Wharfedale is Kilnsey Park, a centre for fishermen and those interested in nature and rare flora in the area. Towering over the park is the Crag, a massive limestone overhanging cliff popular with climbers and the focus of the annual “Show” and fell race held in late August each year. The scene transforms throughout the seasons bringing vibrant colours to the valley in Summer.
From the road there is a gateway which opens onto the farmland where the Crag stands. Access is, a far as I am aware, private; and in any event care should be taken against falling rocks.
