Monochrome images tell a whole different story and can bring real drama to a photograph especially if taken at night.
I don’t always go out with shooting in black & white in mind but I do look for certain things which might make an image more dramatic if shot in black & white or converted later. Invariably this involves light and contrast alongside with cunning composition.
Anywhere can provide these opportunities in particular places like the narrow streets of Whitby old town at night (even better in Goth Weekend); or maybe patchy sunlight highlighting parts of hills in the Lakes or Dales.
