Northumberland
A county filled with history, tradition and (it seems) castles. Nearly everywhere has a castle, not suprisingly as this land has had to be defended against many people, nations and rulers who have sought to capture and destroy it.
From the lesser known like Prudhoe and Belsay to the iconic Bamburgh and Lindisfarne, all have their own character and history. All are photogenic but over the years some have weathered the ravages of time and attacks better than others.
Rolling hills which are farmed for crops and livestock provide a varied landscape across the county with much colour across all the seasons. And then there is the wildness and solitude of the fells. Here many thousands of photographic gems can be found and enjoyed.
