Small but perfectly formed this little grey and black night hunter has the brightest orange eyes. Covering it’s entire body are the softest feathers formed into intricate shapes all over its body which allow it to glide silently through the air and pounce on unsuspecting prey. Although they do take small birds and rodents they mainly feed on insects.
Rare but regular visitors to the UK they mainly reside across Europe and African countries. There are several variations of Scops Owl, chiefly determined by where they live and their habitat.
