Monochrome images tell a whole different story and can bring real drama to a photograph especially if taken at night.
I don’t always go out with shooting black & white in mind, but I do look for certain things which might make an image more dramatic if shot in black & white or converted later. Invariably this involves light and contrast alongside a cunning composition.
Anywhere can provide these opportunities in particular places like the narrow streets of York or Whitby old town at night (even better in Goth Weekend); or maybe the patchy sunlight highlighting parts of hills in the Lakes or Dales.

We now have a selected number of images in our new online shop. These images are available to order direct by visiting our Buy Online shop. The number of images available is currently a trial, and we will be expanding the number of images available to buy online over time. However, all of our images are already available by choosing from the Gallery Overview and placing an order through our Contact Us page.
