As the valley of Wharfedale grows narrower nearer its head, many meadows fill the valley floor. And in Spring and early Summer they are filled with grass and millions of wild flowers.
Dotted around are barns made from local stone which house the grass for winter feed. They also provide homes for wildlife like field voles, and mice which in turn attract a variety of owls.
